l'air du temps à 7h58

Dimanche matin.

Sunday morning. Raining. I walk down to my daily meeting with Fuji San, as if I had been doing that for ever… how fast one is getting into a habit!
But today I had a few thoughts about that.
I always take 2 or 3 shots. I promised myself to remain impartial and to select acording to the clarity of the picture. But, it is quite difficult to remain impartial since it is I who write the rules and there is no one to control me ! and in fact there is always some amount of choice for exemple for the angle or the distance between me and the security rail (by the way - this rail has been quite damaged ! a proof, in any case, that it fulfilled its primary function…) since the camera is not fixed to the spot.
and, this morning, I made even more exceptions: I chose to let the umbrella show in the picture and, when I heard someone approaching I included him/her too (well, I waited, to make sure where this person would go because I did not want to have a straight shot in her face).
So, to summarize: there is that on which I have no control, that my eye and the camera's eye see objectively; and there is that which can carry me away and on which I have some power of action, directly (as for my umbrella) or indirectly (as for the person that I can choose to integrate or not into the picture).

a bit like meditation, finally: difficult to observe, to remain outside, impartial, and watch the train of thoughts without being carried away by one of them.
